Where to Eat Friday...

Yes I know this is late, I had a busy weekend, so sue me.

Dulces-Lakeline Mall

This is a quaint restaurant with wonderful and intriguing artwork.

 

 

The food was delicious the salsa was spicy and our server was a great sport.

The girls and I went there on a friday late and the restaurant was fairly empty but they catered to us great.
Kim's salad was really tasty, juicy chicken with a very flavorful avocado dressing

Jen and Cat had the Cheese Enchiladas that included no tortilla but wonderful flavorful Manchego Cheese

and I had the Tacos al Carbon with onions, pepper and nopolitos, the meat was tender and juicy and the salsa was extra spicy.

and a decadent dessert.

 So I highly recommend Dulces, I give it 3 forks for great food, atmosphere and service.

Where to Eat Friday...

Yes as I promised I am changing things up a bit and now on Fridays I will be doing restaurant reviews.

Maggiores-Cedar Park

This is a great place in Cedar Park for Families or hanging with the gals or guys for drinks and eats.  

The menu is mainly bar food fare with Pizzas and some Italian favorites.

They have a variety of beer and wine and a great patio on which to enjoy them. 

There is a game area with a pool table and video games to keep you entertained

and if you just wanted to catch the game there is about 20 TV's to choose from. 

So whether you are with your family or friends stop by Maggiores for great food and wonderful service.

Our Pilgrimage to Forks: SoHo Asian Bistro

SoHo Asian Bistro. 

On our way back from Forks to Seattle, we decided to look for something light for lunch.  Just a sandwich would do. So we used our GPS and found what sounded like a perfect place in Port Angeles. We found the address but no place to eat!  It looked like the place we picked hadn't been there in a long time.  We were already parked so we jumped out of the car and walked down the street and found The SoHo Asian Bistro (http://www.sohoasianbistropa.com/).  We all agreed that it sounded yummy and in we went.  This bistro is in an older part of town so the ceilings were high and the floors were wood.  There were "rooms" filled with tables.  The front was lined with large windows letting lots of light in.  It's a very pretty place with an antique feel.  We sat down to enjoy some really good food.  The portions were huge.  We couldn't finish our plates.  

Shannon enjoyed the Jasmine tea with her meal of Beef Pho.

Jen tried the Vegetarian Thai Basil Fried Rice.

I had a Yellow Chicken Curry dish.

We really enjoyed this find.  

I give it 3 out of 3 forks!

 

 

Our Pilgrimage to Forks: The River's Edge Restaurant...

River's Edge Restaurant in La Push, Washington is not far from First Beach and is on the banks of the Quilayute River.  It has great views and friendly people working there.  

The menu was basic fair of burgers, sandwiches and salads and what we ate was pretty good.

The decor was rustic and homey.

So if you are in La Push please visit this establishment and have a good lunch and leave your money where it is needed.

Our Pilgrimage to Forks:The Forks Coffee Shop

Forks Coffee Shop 

Having breakfast at the Forks Coffee shop was completely satisfying and a throw back to slower times!  The girls and I decided to go to breakfast at the highly recommended Forks Coffee shop.When we walked in I felt as though I'd stepped back in time 40 year or so.  The decor was an earthy brown, tan and cream color, with a few muted blues and reds thrown in. The furnishings were well loved and worn. The deer heads and bear skin brought an outdoorsy feel to this diner of yesteryear.  

We sat ourselves at a booth by the window overlooking the parking lot where we spied the "bread man" making his deliveries of bread, danishes and other goodies to the coffee shop.  We were very near to the bar area and were privy to some locals chatting it up about the bread man and other Forks related gossip.  It was quite a treat.  We ordered our breakfast of, coffee, hot tea, pancakes(as big as your head), 

1/2 order of biscuits and gravy (that took up the whole plate)

and french toast.  

We had so much food that we couldn't eat it all. I imagine that these could easily be shared.  The food was delish all the way around.  The cream gravy was a great compliment to the home made biscuits, although it wasn't southern style with sausage it was a nice, creamy, peppery treat! The other dishes were just a good I'm told.  When you are finished you have to stop and gaze at the jewelry in the display case that the cash register sits upon. They have some beautiful sea glass pendants!  On your way out, you must take a pic of yourself sitting in the wooden deck chair, with the bear skin draped on it, that sits in front of a beautiful waterfall mural!

A Restaurant Review???

I have never done a restaurant review before and it is with trepidation I do one now.  The hubs and I went on a date night tonight because, when the kids are away the adults will play, right.

The Hubs and I love to eat Japanese Hibachi and wanted to try a new Hibachi restaurant in Austin called Nagoya on 620 in Northwest Austin.

I can say without malice that this is the worst hibachi restaurant I have ever been to.  The service sucked, the food was awful and it took the server 3 times to get our order right.  I ordered a Spicy Salmon Roll which was decent, the Chicken Hibachi Dinner which had no taste and the fried rice which was crunchy and greasy and according to the hubs smelled like wet dog.  I did not get my nose that close to confirm that statement though. So in my humble opinion you can skip this restaurant if you are looking for something new.  So I bequeath this restaurant 1 fork (thanks to the Edamame).


So did you like the review, should I do more?  Maybe I will, one new restaurant a month, possibly.
